Arrival by Air
The nearest airport to Sangla is Shimla Airport (SLV), approximately 220 km away. From there, you can arrange for a taxi or take a bus to Sangla.
Alternatively, you can fly into Chandigarh Airport (IXC), which is about 380 km from Sangla and has better connectivity with major Indian cities.
We can arrange for an airport pickup from either location with prior notice. Please contact our reservations team to arrange this service.
Arrival by Train
The closest railway station to Sangla is Shimla, which is connected to Kalka by the UNESCO-listed Kalka-Shimla toy train. Kalka is well-connected to major cities by the Indian Railways network.
From Shimla, you can take a bus or taxi to Sangla (approximately 220 km).
Another option is to travel to Chandigarh Railway Station and then proceed to Sangla by road.
Arrival by Road
Sangla is well-connected by road and can be reached via the following routes:
- From Delhi: Delhi - Chandigarh - Shimla - Rampur - Karcham - Sangla (610 km, approximately 16-18 hours)
- From Shimla: Shimla - Narkanda - Rampur - Karcham - Sangla (220 km, approximately 7-8 hours)
- From Chandigarh: Chandigarh - Shimla - Rampur - Karcham - Sangla (380 km, approximately 12-14 hours)
Regular buses operate from Shimla and Rampur to Sangla. Alternatively, taxis can be hired from these locations.
Note that road conditions in mountainous areas can vary, especially during winters and monsoon season.
